The Scott Monument is the largest monument to a writer in the world. It’s a Gothic monument that commemorates Sir Walter Scott. Built in 1846, the monument offers breathtaking views of the city. However, you will have to climb 287 steps of an increasingly narrowing spiral staircase to enjoy the views... but is definitely worth it!
