Cities where he/she works: Gerona, BARCELONA, Figueras

Guide presentation

I was born in Barcelona but I grew up further up north. I studied Translation and Interpreter Studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and History at the University of Barcelona.
I have travelled much, specially backpacking when I was a student. I also lived abroad for a few years, in Rio de Janeiro (Brasil), London (UK) and Bergen (Norway), where I began working as a guide and I thought it was a great job.
I came back to Barcelona six years ago and began working as a guide here. Now I spend my time between Barcelona and Girona.

I love my job because it is wonderful to show the best spots in Barcelona and other parts of Catalonia to travelers. I am very social, talkative and love meeting people from all around the world. This job keeps me always busy, reading, learning and explaining all of this in my tours!

If you are interested in visiting the main highlights, I will be glad to take you there and tell you about the sites, if you would like to learn more specifically about a subject such as the Medieval past of the city, its Jewish Heritage, the Modern Style architecture or the Civil War, you can have your taylor-made tour which I will be delighted to plan for you. If you would rather get off the beaten-track, there are plenty of interesting places in the city where tourists do not usually go, so you can mix with the locals and have a more authentic experience.

It is absolutely recommendable to take at least a day out of the city to discover other parts of Catalonia, where towns are smaller, people are more laid-back and the landscapes are just amazing. Barcelona is international, cosmopolitan, busy, the rest of Catalonia is a bit different, is more local.

If you are a week in Barcelona, I would advise you to take at least a couple of day trips out of the city. A day up north visiting Girona and the Costa Brava or the Dalí museum -if you are interested in art- and another day in Montserrat mountain and the wineries in Penedés. If you are interested in Roman heritage, do not miss Tarragona, our little Rome!

In the city all the time there is something happening. Theatre, cinema or music festivals, festivities in any of the neighborhoods, activities for families and kids, great exhibitions, traditional fairs... I will also let you know what you cannot miss meanwhile in Barcelona!

Personal interests

I enjoy very much reading and discussing about history, architecture and art, I am a History Major.
I love gastronomy and wine, markets, traditional festivities and anything related to local culture.
